Celebrity Yoga DVDs: Jennifer Aniston's Yoga DVD Helps You Go Deeper, Mrs. Sting's Yoga Gives You a Buzz, Plus Vitamins Fortify Your Health

Jen's Yen for Zen

Jennifer Aniston & Mandy Ingber's Yogalosophy DVDJennifer Aniston credits her friend and yoga instructor, Mandy Ingber, with helping the Love Happens star through the twist and turns of a dramatic love life. In 2006, Fiterati reported that the downward-dogging duo created a special mind-body feature, "Jennifer Aniston's Mind-body Makeover," for Self magazine readers. Now they're back with a DVD yoga program in time for holiday shopping. Yogalosophy offers two versions of a 30-minute routine and a 55-minute challenge. The hybrid workout pairs yoga poses with toning exercises that help you flow, go deeper, detox or recharge by connecting your mind, body and emotions — all while imaging you're in Jennifer Aniston's yoga studio. Ms. Ingber leads the instruction and Ms. Aniston introduces the benefits and features of the DVD available for US $29.95.

Yoga Gives Mrs. Sting a Buzz

Trudie Styler Warrior Yoga DVDMusician Sting and his wife Trudie Styler embody the message of good health and both are environmental activists. Along with Madonna's Pilates and gyrotonic instructor, James D'Silva, Sting and Ms. Styler have produced a series of mind-body DVDs starring Ms. Styler. The programs are filmed at Il Palagio, the Tuscan villa owned by Ms. Styler and Sting, and include music from Sting’s 2006 classical album Songs From the Labyrinth. Each DVD reflects elements of Ms. Styler and Sting’s philosophy on eco-friendly living. Special features include a tour of Il Palagio's kitchen and gardens, a behind-the-scenes feature on how the villa runs on bio fuels as a self-sustaining and eco-friendly house, and a lifestyle piece about organic wine production. A percentage of DVD profits will go to the Unicef Ecuador Water Project, which provides rainwater collection and filtration tanks to those living with contaminated water in the Ecuador rainforest.Watch the trailer from Trudy Styler's Warrior Yoga ...

The Vitamin Q

Vitamin supplementsWith winter's shorter days, vitamin D may be an important supplement. Earlier this year, I wrote about the serious health complications of insufficient vitamin D among hospital workers at Toronto's Mt. Sinai. The question on your mind may be whether supplements work, and if so, which ones are best for your needs. I take a multivitamin almost everyday and a calcium magnesium supplement as nutritional insurance. But before I took any vitamin, I checked with my doctor and the Consumer Lab website to fortify myself with facts. I recommend you visit the site and research the vitamin brands you buy. In addition, a recent New York Times article in the Patient Money column will help you discover what's worth paying for in vitamins if you decide to supplement your diet. Here's how to get the most vitamin from the least money ...
